Innovative Approach To Living For Older Generations

A retirement village operator and a luxury apartment builder have teamed up to create a new vision for retirement living in Perth.

Grandton Limited is collaborating with builder Norup + Wilson on Grandton Applecross, an 80-apartment project designed to offer residents a special place to live in their later years.

The high-rise complex, which will be located at 20/22 Kintail Road, is not the kind of residential development people might usually associate with retirement living, designed to do away with the stereotypical aged-acre experience, according to Grandton Limited Managing Director Sophie Fielder.

“The Grandton Applecross development reimagines senior living by offering a range of accommodation and lifestyle choices as a genuine alternative to the traditional nursing home model, including the ability for couples to stay together in their own apartment home,” she said.

“The key difference is our residents may never need to move again and our residents are able to access all services of their choosing, including care, from the comfort of their apartment home as they require them.”

Ms. Fielder said residents at Grandton Applecross would be offered flexible lifestyle options with the purchase of their apartment.

“Grandton Applecross offers a broad range of accommodation, amenities and service solution choices so residents only purchase what they want and need,” she said. “This flexibility allows us to offer a truly individual lifestyle experience as part of belonging to the Grandton Applecross community.

“All our apartments are purposely more spacious than traditional apartment offerings so they can adapt to residents’ changing health and lifestyle considerations over time, meaning they may never need to move again.”

Grandton Applecross will feature one, two and three-bedroom apartments, with generous living areas and extensive outdoor and indoor entertaining spaces for when friends and family visit.

“Our architecturally designed apartments are innovative in the way they combine beautiful finishes, state-of-the-art technology and service efficiency for a truly magical living experience so our residents can live their lives to the full in their own home,” Ms Fielder said.

Grandton Applecross will boast first-class amenities, including a rooftop ‘skydeck’ and garden with city views, an onsite cafe, a heated indoor pool, a gym, yoga room, cinema, in-room dining service, specialist 10-bed boutique care suite and 24-hour nursing staff.

Located right next to the Swan River, residents will be able to enjoy picturesque views across one of Perth’s most iconic landmarks, as well as strong connections to public transport and local amenities.

“We selected the vibrant location on Kintail Road in Applecross so our residents were able to be part of the village heart within the Canning Bridge Precinct,” Ms Fielder said.
